Claims of Two Numbered Lottery Ball
A keen-eyed lottery viewer has claimed to see a lottery ball with two different numbers on it. They are now certain that the results are fixed. A picture on Facebook revealed a lottery ball from the Irish Lotto Plus showing a 33 and a 38.
Fixed lottery ball?
A red lottery ball was selected from Ireland’s Lotto Plus 1 results on Saturday night which viewers claim to have more than one number. The ball, seen on numerous screenshots and pictures from Sky recorder, seemed to show the numbers 33 and 38 on the same ball.
The mystery ball was drawn alongside 1, 4, 29, 45, 46 and bonus ball 26.
Footage broadcast by Irish broadcaster RTE shows the 38 ball as the second number to be drawn. The ball falls into the shot, clearly showing the number 38. However, when the next two balls are pulled out, the numbers look to have changed on one side.
The illusion (or not illusion) has prompted social media users to comment saying the lottery is a fix. One woman named Julie said: “Always knew it was a fix,” and another Facebook user added: “Clear as day a total fix”.
“I wonder what other balls have extra numbers on them?” said another user.
Other viewers do suggest it’s a trick of the light. Maeve wrote: “It’s the light reflecting on the 38 to make it look like 33.. if you look at the last ball in the roll you can see the same light on the 46.”
A spokeswoman for the Irish National Lottery said: “The National Lottery would like to assure its players of the integrity of Saturday night’s Lotto Plus 1 draw.
“A brief reflection of light during filming caused an illusion and some players to think there were two numbers on ball 38.
“This was not the case. The weight and size of all Lotto balls, and the numbers, are strictly checked in advance of each draw.
“This process, as well as the draw itself, is independently observed by our auditors KPMG. “
